Dr. Poffenberger graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and moved to Washington shortly after graduation. She grew up in Maryland and attended University of Maryland for her undergraduate degree. Since making her home in North Carolina, she has married and raised three childern. Her interests include serving as president of the Humane Society of Beaufort County and attending activities involving her children
Candy has been at WVH for over 6 years and enjoys in her spare time helping out with her kids Boy Scout and Girl Scout events. She also enjoys working with the Riverside Marching Band where she is a colorguard instructor. If you need anything just ask and she will do all that is possible to help assist the clients and their babies in anyway possible.
Deborah Brown, Office Assistant
Deborah is the office assistant at WVH and has been with WVH since August 2007. She is a native of Williamston and has five cats. Deborah loves making friends with the dogs and cats who come here to WVH. She also enjoys reading, walking, old movies, and being with friends and family
Josh Nussbaumer , Kennel Assitant
Josh has been with our team for a almost a year now, we are very fortunate to have such a dedicated and compassionate employee. We are also very excited to see him use the new skills he has recently learned here at WVH.

Christie Hardison, Vet Assistant
Christie is a native of Robersonville, she serves as a veterinary assistant. Mrs. Hardison is married and has three cats, two geikos and one dog. She loves to read and make jewelry.
Rebecca Ayscue, Receptionist
Rebecca is a Jamesville Native and a busy mother of three with one dog and one cat. She is has just finished her associate degree and is currently working on her bachelor's at Mount Olive College majoring in Health Care Management. Rebecca is the granddaughter of Retired Dr. Gray.
Courtney Gatlin, Kennel Assistant/Vet Assistant
Courtney is a true blessing to the practice. She is only able to work part time during the school year because of her being a full time teacher. She will be training to learn a new postion here as a vet assistiant. She has almost been with the practice for a year and we are excited to know that she will be here full time during the summer and bring a smiling face in a different area of the practice.
Jason Cowin , Kennel Assistant
Jason is a NC State full time student and helps during summer months and weekends. On completetion of his under grad degree Jason plans to either becoming a DVM or a PA.
